About Inspired Exercise
How Inspired Exercise Has Grown
Claire has over seven years experience in the field of dance and fitness and in particular Pilates and pre and post natal exercise. Her training began at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance where she gained a Diploma in dance performance leading to a degree in Dance at the University of Leeds. Claire then gained experience in the field of professional and community dance, dance in education (PGCE) and still teaches and runs her own part time dance company Homelands Dance Theatre.
Pilates
After knee injuries and chronic back pain Claire discovered Pilates and it enabled her to continue to dance and empowered her dancing. It was through this experience that she realized the power of Pilates and embarked on her training as a level 3 Pilates Institute trained instructor in mat based exercises and the Pilates Reformer. Most recently Claire has trained with Lolita San Miguel who is one of only two people ever to be certified to teach the Pilates method by Joe Pilates himself.
Pramercise
In 2005 Claire had a beautiful baby boy and with that life changing event she realized how hard it was to exercise with your baby and that there were hundreds of mums like her desperate to exercise and Pramercise was born. Claire promptly went off to London to train in pre and post natal exercise and yet more Pilates and she applied this underpinning knowledge to devise the unique full body exercise program Pramercise.
On-going training
Claire believes very strongly in continuous professional development as the more she learns the more she can help her clients and class participants. You can ask Claire at any time what she is doing to keep up with her CPD and she will have a list as long as your arm of what she is up to. For example she trained under one of the first British instructors and since then has trained with The Pilates Institute UK, Polestar Pilates UK and Pilates Umbrella and trained and taught in Canada
InspiredExercise believes very strongly in the accessibility and adaptability of exercise. We therefore offer classes that accommodate all levels of fitness and individual needs.
The Inspired Exercise Team
Dan Bordoley
I have been teaching Pilates 4 years and concentrate on having fun classes tailored to people’s individual needs. I got into Pilates 10 years ago after having a back operation –it really worked for me so to increase my knowledge and share it with others I undertook a variety of Pilates training courses with Modern Pilates and the Pilates Institute. In my spare time I enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing and surfing as well as coaching junior football and rugby and somehow I fit a normal job in as well!
