Pramercise
|
It's no walk in the park!
So, what’s involved?
Pramercise has been designed to be accessible to everyone whether your baby is eight weeks or eighteen months old. You can work at a pace that suits you and can increase the intensity of the exercises as her body starts to recover after giving birth.
The 50 min class begins with a simple warm-up including power-walk and stretches. Once everyone is warm a full body circuit begins interspersed with body conditioning and toning exercises to target all the areas you want to. Many of these are done in front of your baby and involve peek-a-boos and songs as you cool down and stretch out.
The class burns calories, tones the whole body including the tummy and pelvic floor and helps balance your posture.
It’s not just about the exercise
Pramercise is not just about the exercise but is also a fantastic way to meet other mums and really feel like part of a community. It is an opportunity to swap ideas, top tips and handy hints and also to find out that you’re not the only one who can’t get junior to eat broccoli.
Pramercise is a pram based, low impact, full body workout session that will improve:
Stamina, Tone, Strength, Posture, Mental Health
and much more.
InspiredExercise believes that Pramercise offers a unique opportunity to exercise with your children, make new friends, have fun and socialise while you exercies, introduce the value of regular exercise to your children, get fresh air and most importantly get a great full body work out!
Midwifes and health visitors strongly support Pramercise:
"Women who have attended the Pramercise classes tell me how they feel they get a good, fun, sociable workout and I recognise the benefits and strongly encourage mums to attend"

FAQs
When can I start?
It is important to begin slowly and only work at a level that your body is comfortable with from the point that you feel ready. Please seek advice from your doctor before exercising if you had any intervention or cesarean section and wait the recommended time before starting.
What should I wear bring etc?
Wear comfy clothes tracksuit etc, trainers or walking shoes, bring a raincoat, raincover, water and a sense of humour! You may also be asked to bring other small items such as an extra bottle of water but you will be asked in advance.
What if my baby is upset or needs something?
Baby’s needs are the most important of all and as a new mum Claire is more than familiar with the demands made by baby, therefore if you need to stop and feed, change or simply give baby a cuddle than feel free to do so, you can always catch up.
What if it's raining?
Wear waterproofs and put on your rain cover. The only way the class will not run if it has been snowing or is snowing.
If I'm on a course and miss one what can I do?
You can attend any other Pramercise class to make it up, but this must be within the six week period of your course. We just ask that you please inform InspiredExercise in advance.
Before commencing on a Pramercise course or any form of exercise please download and complete a Pre & Post Natal PARQ form from the Forms section and return it to Claire.
